How to Get to Leros
Leros has frequent direct ship routes to and from the port of Piraeus. Regular ferries cover these routes, and the trip lasts approximately 9 to 10 hours. Leros’ port is located in Lakki, the largest village on the island. Find more information about routes and bookings at www.digitickets.gr.
The port of Agia Marina is the second largest on the island. It is used for regular transport between nearby Dodecanese islands, such as Kalymnos and Kos.
You can reach the Leros Airport from Athens International Airport Eleftherios Venizelos. The trip lasts 60 minutes, and the prices vary depending on the season.
Transportation
The main road network is extensive; most of it is paved, and it reaches all the island’s settlements.
Other Means of Transport
Leros has two main taxi stands, one in Platanos (central) and the other in Lakki. Taxis provide a good way to get to the airport and to the more secluded areas where buses do not go. Leros’ KTEL buses (https://www.leros.gr/leros-hotels/dromologia-ktel-lerou.html) run frequently between the island’s villages.
