Katalimatsa Beach in the south, and Livoskopos Beach in the north, are probably the most striking beaches on the island in terms of natural beauty. The easiest way to get to Katalimatsa is from Megalos Roukounas. However, there is a second alternative, coming from the north. We begin from the main road, approximately 200 meters before the sign for the ancient city of Kastelli, and head south on a dirt road that ends at the church of Saint John (Agios Ioannis). We only follow it for 100 meters, after which we leave the dirt road and descend straight down on the path. In approximately 400 meters we'll reach the church of Saint Irene (Agia Eirini). Notice the ancient relics scattered around the church. Here we see the path coming from Roukounas. From the church we head straight down to the sea. There is no clearly defined path, but natural terraces gradually lead us close to the beach, and from there a short path takes us to it.
