The island's main northern road leads to the little church of Saint Irene (Agia Eirini) in the northeast (about 9.5 kilometers from Chora). From the church of the Virgin Mary Axinon (Panagia ton Axinon), the path becomes a dirt road (more or less passable). The church of Saint Irene is perched on a small hill, giving it a wonderful view of the Aegean's endless stretch of blue. A hundred meters from the church and to the right, we will see a sign pointing toward Livoskopos Beach. A steep little 200 meter path carved into the rock will lead us to the beautiful sandy beach. It is one of the best beaches on the island, hidden among steep slopes, and it doesn't get very crowded, since it is not so easily accessible.
