Virgin Mary Axinon

The little church of the Virgin Mary Axinon (Panagia ton Axinon) is located 4.6 kilometers from Chora, on the island's main northern road. Here, the road branches out, passing Saint (Agios) Mamas and continuing northward, where it reunites with the northern road. 300 meters north, the road splits in three directions. The first branch leads to the church of Saint Irene, or Agia Eirini (in the northern part of the island), the second to the church of Saint George, or Agios Georgios (northeast), and the third to the small churches of Saint (Agia) Paraskevi and the Virgin Mary (Panagia).
