Anafi’s Coastal Path -- Intersection for the Church and Beach of Saint John

At Megalos Roukounas Beach, we can head to the east end of the beach and walk up into the ravine that ends there for 400 meters—up to the little church of Saint Irene (Agia Eirini). Below us, among red rocks to the south, is the beautiful Katalimatsa Beach. We can continue on the path from the church for another 350 meters, coming to a ravine with reeds and a dirt road. The road ends on our right at the church of Saint John (Agios Ioannis). Next to the church, there is a small windmill. From the church, a 150-meter path leads to the little sandy beach of Agios Ioannis. At its edge there is a rock jetty linked to land by a small bridge.
