From Mikros Roukounas Beach, the coastal path ascends to the east. After 500 meters (a total of 2.7 kilometers from the port), it takes us to the most famous and largest sandy beach on the island, Megalos (Big) Roukounas, which is almost 300 meters long. Offering absolute freedom, this popular beach is used for free camping, in addition, it has a good taverna with rooms for rent and a café / bar. A road with a bus stop passes above the taverna, and the beach is also accessible by car from the west side, with a short path from that road to the beach.
