The castle of Theisoa, also known as the castle of Agia Eleni (Saint Helen), is located near the village of Theisoa (formerly Lavda) in the municipal unit of Andritsaina. It was one of the castles of the Baron of Karytaina, built in what was then called ‘drogo ton Skorton’ (like the ruined castle of Saint George or Ai-Giorgis ton Skorton outside the village of Kourounios, and Araklovo outside the village of Minthi Ilia). The castle of Agia Eleni was built on ancient ruins that refer to the fortified citadel of the nearby ancient Theisoa. We can reach the castle via an 800-meter dirt road that starts from the provincial road that runs from Andritsaina to Megalopolis, about a kilometer southeast of the village of Theisoa.
