Virgin Mary Flampouriani

One of the important religious pilgrimages of the island is a visit to the church of the Virgin Mary (Panagia) Flampouriani in the settlement of Flampouria. It is located on a small hill-rock that rises in the middle of the settlement's 300-meter-long beach, dividing it into two sections. According to religious tradition, on the path that leads from the beach to the church, the steps of the Virgin Mary were distinct.
