Lighthouse on Cape Kefalos

The dirt roads in the northern part of the island, starting at Agios Sostis, are rendered almost impassable by gates meant to confine grazing goats. Even so, we can follow a road most of the way to the lighthouse in Kefalos. Taking the road that heads north from Loutra, proceed for about 5.5 kilometers, up to the first gate. From there, we must walk the remaining 1.5 kilometers to the island's northern lighthouse on Cape Kefalos. The route features lovely views of both the western and northeastern parts of the island. In the narrow bay of Katakefalos, there is a small beach with beautiful clear blue water.
