Mikro Chorio

Agathonisi has two main settlements, Mikro Chorio and Megalo Chorio. Between them, the coastal settlement of Agios Georgios, the port of the island, has also developed, due to tourism. Fewer than 15 permanent residents currently live in Mikro Chorio, whose main attraction is the little church of Saint Panteleimon (Agios Panteleimonas), which stands atop a small hill above the village (at 100 meters altitude). We can reach the church via a short paved footpath that starts at the settlement’s square. It is worth noting that the houses of the village were all built using the local stone of the island.
