The picturesque little blue and white lower church of the Dormition of the Virgin Mary (Kato Kimisi tis Theotokou), built in 1770 AD in the southwestern part of the island, above Kimisi Beach. In the holes in the surrounding rocks, there are bones of monks who lived and were martyred there during the Turkish occupation. From the beach, an 800-meter flagstone path ascends to the upper church of the Dormition of the Virgin Mary (Pano Kimisi tis Theotokou), with a beautiful view of the Aegean Sea.
