Northwest of the Lions, we find a 2nd century BC building that housed the Koinon (Community) of Beirut Poseidoniasts. It was a religious and commercial center, but also a meeting place for merchants and shipowners and a warehouse for goods that came from the large commercial city of ancient Syria, Beirut. In the center of the building there is a large peristyle courtyard with an underground water tank. Outside the southwestern corner of the building, we will see engraved in ancient marble a paleo-Christian inscription that reads 'Christ help your slave Peter.'
