Immediately after the Oikos (House) of Naxians we will see the three temples of Apollo: the Temple of the Delians or the Great Temple (since it was the largest), the Temple of the Athenians, and the Porinos Naos (Poros Temple). The Great Temple was the only pavilion on the island with 6 columns on each short side and 13 on each long side. Its construction started in 476 BC with funding from the Delian League, but work ceased in 454 BC when the Athenians transferred the League funds to Athens (due to the Peloponnesian War). Work restarted in 314 BC, after the island gained independence, but the temple was never completed. The statue of the god was placed inside it, along with many valuable offerings.
