As we head from Agios Stefanos to Houlakia, we will see signs pointing to the famous lighthouse (faros) on Cape Armenistis, in the northern part of the island. Built in 1891, the lighthouse is 19 meters high. Its construction was planned in 1887, after the fatal wreck of an English steamer north of the island.
