Castle of Gizi

On the top of a hill in the northern part of Ano Mera, we find ruins of the Venetian Castle of Gizi (or Gyzi). In the 13th century, the island was under the jurisdiction of the Venetian Gizi brothers, and what we see now is what is left of the fortified settlement of that era.
