Fishermen's Festival

Fishing is the main source of income for many Psara residents. This occupation is celebrated on the first Saturday of the festival of the Holy Apostles (Agion Apostolon, in July), on the islet of Agio Nikolakis. All the island's fishing boats gather, there is a religious service, and everyone is offered ouzo and fresh seafood snacks (mezedes). The celebration is organized by the Association of Professional Fishermen of Psara.
