Church of the Virgin Mary the Spiliousena

After the intersection for the church of the Virgin Mary (Panagia) the Vatousena and 1700 meters before the monastery, we will see a dirt road on our right where a sign points toward the church of the Prophet Elias (Profitis Ilias). After 20 or 30 meters, the dirt road splits in two. One branch heads left, or northeast, toward Prophet Elias, and the other goes southeast to the church of the Virgin Mary (Panagia) the Spiliousena. The road to the church of the Virgin Mary is very bad (only accessible with a 4x4), especially after 1100 meters, where it becomes steep and narrow, with potholes. The total distance to the little church from where we turned is 2400 meters. East of the church, a 1400 meter path begins which leads to the old monastery of Saint (Agia) Kioura (or Matrona), which was built in 1735.
