A traditional pre-revolutionary stone building constructed in 1810 to house the Chamber of Shipping of Psara. From the time of the destruction of the island in 1824 until its liberation from the Ottomans in 1912, this building was the seat of the Ottoman Governor--hence the name Konaki, a Turkish word for the residence of a commander or governor. From 1912 to 1928, the building housed the island's first elementary school (the Old School, or Palio Scholeio). It has now been renovated and is intended for use as the Nautical and Historical Museum of the island.
