Ioannis Varvakis High School of Psara

The junior and senior high school of Psara bears the name of Psarian national benefactor Ioannis Varvakis. It is located across from the Konaki - old school. In its present form in this area, the school opened in the 1986-87 school year. Today, a total of about 30 students attend classes there. The first junior high school complex on the island opened in the 1978-79 school year, in rooms in the elementary school below the church of Saint Nicholas (Agios Nikolaos), with two teachers and 13 students.
