At the beginning of the uphill road that passes the elementary school and ends at the church of Saint Nicholas (Agios Nikolaos), we will find a fenced plot that once contained the home of the most famous Psarian, the freedom fighter, admiral, and Prime Minister Constantine (Konstantinos) Kanaris (1793-1877). In addition to his important contribution to the Independence Struggle, Kanaris played an important role in the political activities of the newly established Greek state, initially as an admiral in the Hellenic Fleet and then as Prime Minister, serving in this position five times over a total of 34 years. His house was completely destroyed by the Ottomans in 1824. Today, the plot includes a small garden and a bust, with two canons from the revolutionary era.
