Alonissos is the third largest island in the Sporades archipelago in the Aegean Sea. The capital of the island is the port of Patitiri. Administratively, the island belongs to the Prefecture of Magnesia and the Region of Thessaly. Alonissos has ferry connections to Agios Konstantinos (in Fthiotida), Kymi (in Evia), Mantoudi (in Evia), Volos, Skiathos, Skopelos, and Thessaloniki.

How to Get There

The island of Alonissos has ferry connections to the ports of Volos, Agios Konstantinos (prefecture of Fthiotida), Kymi (in Evia), Mantoudi (in Evia), and Thessaloniki.

The island’s main port is Patitiri, in the southern part of Alonissos.

Most ferries departing from Volos and Agios Konstantinos go to Skiathos and then continue to Skopelos and Alonissos, while the ferry from Kymi connects Skyros to Kymi, Alonissos, and Skopelos.

From the port of Agios Konstantinos to Alonissos, a conventional ferry trip lasts approximately 5.5 hours and costs approximately 35.90 € per person and 53 € per car.

From the port of Volos to Alonissos, the trip takes 5 to 5.5 hours and costs approximately 25.70 € per person and 54 € per car.

From Mantoudi in Evia to Alonissos, the trip takes about 2 hours and costs approximately 19.80 € per person and 42 € per car. This is the shortest sea route to Alonissos from mainland Greece.

From Kymi in Evia to Alonissos, the trip takes about 2.5 hours and costs approximately 20 € per person and 40 € per car.

The routes are handled by A.N.E.S. and the Skyros Shipping Company.

The trip from Thessaloniki to Alonissos takes approximately 5 hours; from Skiathos it is about 2 hours, and from Skopelos around 30 minutes.

With the Express Skiathos ship of Hellenic Seaways from Volos, the approximate cost is 30 € per person and 85 € per car.

By catamaran with Hellenic Seaways, approximate prices are 39 € per person from Volos (duration 3.3 hours) and 54 € per person from Agios Konstantinos (3.25 hours).

If you take a flying dolphin from Volos or Agios Konstantinos with Aegean Flying Dolphins, the approximate price is € 30 per person (2 hours and 20 minutes).
