To the Archaeological Site of Garbitses

Heading north on the island's main road, on the way to Gerakas, we can take a right turn off the main road to head toward Kalamakia and Agios Dimitrios. At this point we will see a sign pointing toward an archaeological site. Actually, the sign only indicates the direction we must go to reach the site. After we proceed for 2,100 meters, we will see on our right a sign that indicates that the 'Garbitses - Archaeological Site' is 175 meters away. Following the weedy path, we can find the few remains of agricultural facilities and fortified farmhouses from the Classical and Hellenistic periods that have been found in this area.
