The offices of the National Marine Park of Alonissos and Northern Sporades. The National Marine Park of Alonissos and Northern Sporades is the first Marine Park in Greece, and the largest protected marine area in Europe (approximately 2,220 square kilometers). Apart from the marine area, the park includes the island of Alonissos, 6 smaller islands (Peristera, Kyra Panagia, Psathoura, Piperi, Skantzoura and Gioura), and 22 islets. In the park, there have been findings from the Prehistoric, Classical, and Byzantine periods (shipwrecks, old monasteries, and churches). In areas accessible to the general public, guests can engage in swimming, free diving, wildlife observation, amateur photography and video recording, visits to cultural monuments, walking, etc. During your visit to the park offices, you can watch a very interesting half-hour video presentation about the entire park.
