How to Get There
If you have your own vehicle, take the ferry boat that heads from Piraeus to Aegina and Agistri (total time approximately 1 hour and 35 minutes), disembarking at the port of Skala, southwest of the town of Aegina. This service is provided by the Consortium of Saronic Ferries. An average price for an economy class ticket is 11.50 euros.
If you take a flying dolphin (hydrofoil) instead of a ferryboat, the trip takes 55 minutes, and you disembark in either Skala or Mylos (the second port on the island, also called Megalochori, Myloi, Myli, Milos, or Mili!). This service is provided by Hellenic Seaways and Aegean Flying Dolphins. An average economy ticket price is 14.50 euros.
For more information about ferry schedules and reservations, see www.digitickets.gr
You can also reach Agistri by sea taxi from the port of Aegina.
You can rent various types of vehicles on the island, but we believe that if you have time (at least a weekend) the best, most enjoyable, and healthiest solution is to rent a bicycle.
Road network
Small as it is, the island has a paved road network approximately 13 kilometers long, as well as several dirt roads that head southeast from the northwest coast to the interior of the island.
