The village of Oia is located in the northern part of Santorini, 11 kilometers northwest of the capital, Fira, and 120 meters above sea level. According to the 2011 census, its permanent population is 665. Oia is considered the most popular destination on the island for tourists. It stands out for the cave dwellings that were dug into the volcanic hillsides of the island, creating a unique landscape that impresses visitors.
