Located in Kamari, the parish church of the Virgin Mary the Myrtle Bearer (Panagia Myrtidiotissa) celebrates with a festival on September 24 each year. The church is dedicated to the icon of the Virgin Mary that was found in Kythera among fragrant myrtle. Its construction was completed in 1968, with its northern wing extended in the 1980s.
