Episkopi Gonias (or Mesa Gonia) is located on the northern slopes of the Prophet Elias mountain, 6 kilometers from Fira and very close to Kamari. According to the 2011 census, it has 118 permanent residents. The settlement suffered extensive damage in the earthquake of 1956, so the inhabitants abandoned it and settled on the coast, where the current settlement of Kamari was built. The village was known for its wine production and has had wineries since the old days. It is part of the Municipal Unit of Thira.
