The church of Saint Nicholas (Agios Nikolaos) of Megalochori or Posta is impressively built on the rim of the caldera. We will come across it less than 10 minutes from the beginning of the cobbled path that descends into the caldera from Megalochori en route to the church of the Presentation of the Virgin Mary (Eisodia tis Theotoku) and the old thermal baths of Plaka. Here tourists from all parts of the world patiently wait to take commemorative photos of the magnificent sunset. We have even witnessed marriage proposals at this point!
