Another characteristic 19th century neoclassical mansion (built in 1889) is the mansion of the Saliveros family, which is next to the ruined buildings of the alcohol factory (kanava) of Antonios Venetsanos. This is one of the few mansions that survived the 1956 earthquake, although it has not been inhabited since then. In 1987 it was declared a listed historical site, and in 2012 the decision was made to restore it in order to house exhibition spaces highlighting the architectural history and geological evolution of the Cycladic island.
