Path to the Church of the Virgin Mary of Nisiotissa

A visit to the pure white church of the Virgin Mary of Nisiotissa south of Ano Meria makes nice, short walk. From the main road that passes through Ano Meria, turn left 300 meters after the church of Saint Andrew (Agios Andreas) onto a narrow concrete road. The paved road continues for 450 meters, and then we continue on a dirt road for another 450 meters. Half way through our walk, in the distance to the south, we can discern the light of the lighthouse of Aspropounta. The road stops before the small church, which is located within gated property, and care must be taken to find the entrance to the small path that will lead us to the church. (We have noted the point on the map.) The church of the Virgin Mary was built with a private donation in 1965.
