'To the School''s Observatory from Agios Vasileios Church'

A nice hike 50 to 60 minutes from the bastion is the ascent to the Observatory of Anargyrios School. Start at the bastion and walk uphill toward Kasteli. At the intersection by the Lazaros Taverna, continue straight ahead, passing the small churches of Agia Sotira (Saint Savior) and Agios (Saint) Dimitrios on the right. At the crossroads (where the road straight ahead leads to the old domed reservoir), continue to the right on the road that passes above the church of Agios Vasileios (Saint Basil). Near the church, follow the path that climbs away from it (to the south). Soon we will find the dirt road that leads (after 40 minutes’ walk) to the Observatory of the School, with beautiful views of the Settlement of the Engineers, the Schools, and beyond them the shores of Kosta and the waters of the Saronic Gulf.
