Black Pine

Black pine trees (Pinus nigra) in the Chelmos - Vouraikos National Park, across from the Monastery of Saint Laura (Agia Lavra). Black pines can reach a height of 45 meters. Their high quality wood is used for construction and shipbuilding. They grow in mountainous and semi-mountainous areas, at an altitude of 400 to 1,800 meters.
