Road from Neochori to Megalos Pontias

A very beautiful dirt road that passes through a lush oak forest starts at the village of Manesi, after the Monastery of Saint George (Agios Georgios), and ascends for 200 meters to 940 meters altitude, reaching the little church of the Transfiguration of Christ (Metamorphosis tu Sotiros). From there it continues to the right for about 3 kilometers, emerging on the road from Neochori to Megalos Pontias, a few hundred meters from the beginning of the dirt road that runs through the lovely forest of Kaniska to the Monastery of Makellaria. This could be either a drive (in a 4X4) or a long walk (5-6 hours to the Monastery of Makellaria). This is where the dirt road meets the main road.
