Castle

The path through Palio Chorio leads to the castle. It was built by the Knights Hospitaller of Rhodes in the 14th to 15th century, on top of the remains of an ancient acropolis. Note the coat of arms of the Knights above the impressive walls. Inside the castle you will see the foundations of old houses, the church of Saint Nicholas (Agios Nikolaos) with its frescoes, and magnificent views of Trachia and the Aegean Sea.
