Platys Gialos

Picturesque seaside village around the sandy beach of the same name on the northeastern edge of the island. In addition to the main beach of Platys Gialos, we can find the smaller but also beautiful sandy beaches of Mesiano (Mikro Livadi) and Marathidi (Voreino) in consecutive coves a few minutes' walk south. In the past, there were a lot of vineyards here (with grapes to export) as well as a small shipyard.
