Near Galani, a dirt road begins which ends in about 2,200 meters at the little white church (without a dome) of Agii (Saints) Anargyri. The ravine that passes below it ends at Avlaki Bay at Sykia. The church celebrates with a festival (panigyri) on July 1. Three hundred meters before we reach the church, a path heads off to our right, to the north, ending in about 1,150 meters at a conical pile of stones at the northernmost tip of the island, above the promontory of Protos Volos, with a wonderful view of the sea. At the highest point of the trail, 300 meters from its beginning, we will see a large pile of stones on a farm on our right. It is the ruins of the Round Tower (Strongylos Pyrgos), which was once more than three meters tall. Approaching the pile of stones (called Soros) at the northern edge of the island, we will have to jump over low stone walls which block our path. From the pile, we will see the southern shores of Kythnos across from us in the distance.
