Roads

Serifos has a fairly limited road network. The paved road connects the main villages of the island (Livadi, Koutalas, Megalo Livadi, Panagia, Galani, Kentarchos, Chora), while the rest of the island features only dirt roads. Most beaches are accessible by dirt road, and in many cases access is fairly difficult, since the dirt roads are in poor condition. Because of this as well as frequent winds, the use of a motorcycle or scooter is not appropriate. In Livadi, there are car and motorcycle rental agencies.

Other Modes of Transportation

A boat is very useful for getting around the island of Serifos, since many of the beaches are mainly or most easily accessible by sea. In Livadi, you can rent a boat or hire a sea taxi. Many of the points of interest (such as beaches and attractions) are also accessible via footpath, but unfortunately these are not adequately marked, so you need to ask the locals for detailed directions.

Local buses provide frequent service between Livadi and Chora (at 1.60 euro per ticket), with less frequent service to the other villages of Serifos.
