The traditional event of the Captains (ethimo tis Kapetanias) takes place on the last Sunday of the Carnival. According to tradition, two teams, each one with a captain, stage a theatrical conflict outside the Monastery of the Taxiarches, which they enter for prayer at the end of the performance. The custom has been kept alive thanks to the efforts of the Serifos Women's Association.
