Torch Relay in Dimitsana

The Dimitsana Women's Cultural Agrotourism Association and the Municipal Community of Dimitsana honor the anniversary of the Greek Revolution of 1821 in their own distinctive way: they have revived the forgotten custom of the Torch Relay. On March 24, the eve of the anniversary, at 8:00 in the evening, a crowd gathers in the central square of Dimitsana and comes out on the streets with torches in hand, singing revolutionary war songs celebrating the nation's resurrection!
