One of the oldest villages in Halkidiki (or Chalkidiki), Sykia is the southernmost large village on the Sithonia peninsula. It has about 2000 inhabitants and maintains its traditional atmosphere, with many of its houses displaying the Athonite architectural style typical of the monastic community on the next peninsula. In the narrow alleys and the central square, you will find many cafés and tavernas.
