A single-lane bridge passes over the Strymonas (or Struma) River to connect the villages of Vyroneia and Gonimo. The bridge does have a wider space for passing halfway across, in case two vehicles approach from opposite directions. On either side of the bridge, there are meadows. Marshes, trees, and lush vegetation make the spot ideal for water buffalo and other wildlife.
