Anatoli is west of Rodopoli and Lake Kerkini, near the border between the prefecture of Serres and the prefecture of Kilkis. It has 132 inhabitants, most of whom are refugees from Pontos (the Greek name for a coastal region south of the Black Sea in present-day Anatolia, Turkey). It is said that the name of the village was chosen so the inhabitants would not forget where they came from.
