Just outside Manesi (1.5km NE, passable dirt road that starts behind the Church of Saint Nikolaos) is situated the Holy Monastery of Saint Georgios. The Monastery was built in 1824 by someone from Ithakisio with the name of Evgenios, commonly called Agiopateras (holy father) or Papoulakis. Following his death at Tripotama (3 years later at the hands of the Ibrahim Pasha's army) the Monastery ceased to function. Today, it has been restored and is functioning again. Its courtyard, the catholic and a few remains of the church have been preserved.
