Rogoi Memorial of Execution

It was here on the spot of the Memorial, beside the Church of Saint Varvara, that the German occupying forces executed residents of the village on the 8th Devember 1943. Sixty six patriots were executed and only five managed to flee. The German forces burned the Church of Saint Varvara and all the houses. The church was rebuilt in 1951 with the financial support of the Achaea, Ilia and Olympia schools. The Memorial was built in 1972.
