Prophet Elias

On the road from Kerpini to Rogi, just before we arrive at Rogi, we can see on our left a sign for the Lithos wind park and the church of the Prophet Elias (Profitis Ilias). To get to the church, we go up and follow the relevant sign on our right, at the point on the map shown here. A demanding dirt road starts here, and it becomes more demanding as we start to go up toward the Profitis Ilias peak (at 1,380 meters), mainly due to the road's gullies. The well maintained little church is situated in a glade on the mountaintop. The view from here is very lovely; across from us in the background to the northeast, we can discern the Monastery of the Great Cave (Megalo Spilaio) on the side of a cliff.
