The Church of Saint Anna, on our right, is at the start of the road from Kalavryta towards Skepasto. Skepasto was bombed by the German forces on the 29th November 1943. At the 'windmill' location that we can see beside the Saint Anna's park, on the 9th December 1943, the day of Saint Anna's celebration, the German occupying forces rounded up 306 unarmed men in order to, as it seemed, execute them. Finally, however, after a short speech they were released. The residents of Skepasto, after the Kalavryta holocaust on the 13th, considered this event was thanks to the protection of Saint Anna and built the church that we see today in Her honour on the 5th November 1953.
