Ancient town of Achaea, founded by the Iones and member of the Ionian Dodekapolis (12 towns). The town was destroyed at the end of the 3rd century by Philippos V of Macedonia. Today, they have excavated on a hill 3km NW of Vlasia, the wall of the acropolis of the ancient town and on the east slope of the hill, an ancient theatre. At today's Leontio, which is 26km north of Vlasia, a temple of Artemis has been found that is believed to have been on the ancient road that lead to Arcadia.
