Historic Monastery that stands at the peak of the fir tree covered hill above Vlasia village. The precise date of the founding of the Monastery is not known but it should have been at the least during the 10th century AD. It was created by ascetic monks from the Agios Oros, probably by the same monks who also founded Saint Lavra. Since then, the Monastery has been burned down and rebuilt three times (the last time in 1892). In the surrounding area of the Monastery an important battle of the civil war took place in July, 1948 and behind there is a monument in memory of those who died in this battle. It is said that the commander of the regiment saw in his dreams that night Saint Nikolaos who warned him that he was surrounded.
