The alpine Profitis Ilias (better known in the region as Germpesi), is the seat of the community and is situated about 11km north of Vlasia. The village is mainly inhabited during the summer as the residents (mainly livestock farmers) spend the winter months on the plain. Mount Profitis Ilias is located west of the village, together with the homonymous little church and the transmitters for mobile phones.
