Seat of the community that is made up of Lompokas, Mikros and Megalos Pontias and Karousi. A quiet village with a nice, landscaped, stone built square and its Church of the Virgin Mary dominating the upper district of the village with its distinctive bell tower. There are four versions for the origin of its name, from the Slavic Vodia or Voda, means water, place of water and that it was founded (together with Megalos Pontias) by a Byzantine family who had come from Pontos.
